Webinar: Simple Planning Tool for Climate Hazards v2.0

Wednesday, July 10th from 9-10:30am

The Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program, a NOAA Climate Adaptation Partnerships team at the University of Oklahoma, is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, July 10th from 9:00-10:30am to demonstrate the newly redesigned Simple Planning Tool for Climate Hazards v2.0 (SPT). We will train attendees on how to use the tool to incorporate weather and climate data and information into their plans, provide several examples in our demonstration, and include time for feedback and Q&A.

The SPT is a compilation of relatively easy-to-use online interactive tools, maps, and graphs to assist planners, emergency managers, and other decision makers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas who are assessing their long-term climate risks, both historically and in the future. The SPT points users to reputable free data tools and resources that can be used during planning processes and in plans. The SPT may be relevant to those who work outside of this region, as many tools and resources include national-level data and information.

For the SPT v2.0, we combined the previous four state-specific PDFs into one interactive online interface. Information in SPT v2.0 remains tailored to each of the four states.

To learn more about the history of the SPT and new features, please visit this page. If you would like to view the tool prior to the webinar, you can access it here.

There is no cost, but registration is required in order to get the Zoom link.

Please register for the webinar here. The webinar will be recorded and uploaded to SCIPP’s event page and YouTube page.
